At Language Lens, we believe your data is yours. Because our application is designed to capture and translate what is on your screen—which may include personal communications or sensitive documents—we have architected our software around a Privacy-First, 100% Local Processing model.

1. Information We Collect (Or Don't Collect)

Language Lens does not require you to create an account, log in, or provide any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) to use our core offline features. We do not track your usage habits, and we do not monitor what applications you are running.

2. Local Processing (Language Lens Pro)

If you are using the primary Language Lens offline application:

• No Data Leaves Your Machine: All screen capture, Optical Character Recognition (OCR), and translation processes are performed 100% locally on your computer's hardware.
• No Server Uploads: Your images, text, and translations are never uploaded to our servers, nor are they sent to any third parties.
• One-Time Downloads: Internet connectivity is only required initially to download the application and your selected Argos Translate and EasyOCR language models. Once downloaded, the app functions entirely offline.

3. Online Translation Services (Language Lite)

If you choose to use the free "Language Lite" tier, the software relies on third-party online translation APIs (such as standard web translation endpoints) to process text. When using this specific version:

• The text captured from your screen by the local OCR is transmitted over the internet to these third-party services to generate the translation.
• Language Lens does not store this data, but its transmission and handling are subject to the privacy policies of the respective translation API providers.
• If you require absolute privacy for sensitive materials, we strongly recommend using the fully offline Language Lens version.

4. Data Retention

Because Language Lens processes data locally in your computer's volatile memory (RAM) to provide real-time overlays, we do not retain or save histories of your translations or screen captures unless you explicitly choose to save a text export locally to your own hard drive.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our software or legal requirements. Any updates will be posted on this page.
